Mohammed Aziz (born as Syed Mohammed Aziz-Un-Nabi; 2 July – 27 November ), also known as Munna, was an Indian multilingual playback singer who primarily sang for the Bollywood, Odia films, Bengali. He sang about twenty thousand songs, including Bhajans (Hindi, Odia & Bengali) Sufi devotional songs and other genres in more than ten different Indian languages. He made his first appearance in films Odia film *led Jaga Hatare Pagha directed by Mohammad Mohsin, with the song Rupa Sagadi re Suna Kaniya. Later he the sung most numbers of songs in Odia and for Ollywood Actor Siddhanta Mahapatra. Later he appeared with a Hindi film *led Ambar () and his two prominent songs, including "Mard Tangewala" composed by Anu Malik were introduced in Mard.
He had sung numerous duets in s and s with singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, a, Sulakshana Pandit, Vijayta Pandit, Usha Mangeshkar, Anuradha Paudwal, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Sadhana Sargam, S. The legendary singer, Syed Mohammed Aziz-un-Nabi, was born on 2 July (age 64 years; at the time of his death) in West Bengal. His loved ones used to call him by the name, &#;Munna.&#; He was a Bollywood, Odia, and Bengali playback singer. Famous singer, Mohammed Rafi, was Aziz&#;s inspiration. He started singing when he was very young. He was often considered as an heir to Mohammed Rafi.
It is quite difficult to believe that Aziz had sung around 20k (20,ooo) songs in his lifespan. Also, there are hundreds of Bhajans and Sufi songs sung by him. His duets with some veteran female singers such as Asha Bhonsle, Anuradha Paudwal, and Kavita Krishnamurthy, were much loved and aprreciated by the audience.
Mohammed Aziz was one of the very few singers, who could sing at the 7th note (Saatwan Sur), for instance, his song “Saare Shikawe Gile Bhulaa Ke Kaho.”
